Anti Condensation Roofing Sheets

Anti-condensation roofing sheets have a fleece membrane bonded to the underside that absorbs moisture and releases it as the air warms, so water does not drip onto cars, tools, feed or livestock below.

Available on every box profile, corrugated, tile effect and pan tile steel sheet we make, in plastisol, polyester or galvanised, manufactured to length in our Walsall factory. Select the anti-condensation option on any sheet to see the price per metre.

What causes condensation under a metal roof?

On cold nights a steel roof cools faster than the air inside the building. Warm, moist air touching the cold underside condenses into droplets, which then drip down. It is most common in unheated, uninsulated buildings such as garages, workshops, barns, stables and storage units.

How anti-condensation backing works

A factory-applied fleece layer on the underside of the sheet traps the moisture in its fibres instead of letting droplets form and fall. As temperatures rise during the day, the moisture evaporates. It is a simple, low-cost alternative to full roof insulation when you just need to stop drips.

When should I choose it?

  • Garages and car ports, to protect vehicles
  • Workshops and tool stores, to prevent rust
  • Agricultural buildings, hay and feed stores
  • Stables and animal housing
  • Any unheated building where you will store valuable items

Available profiles

Add anti-condensation backing to box profile, corrugated, tile effect or pan tile sheets in any finish.

Anti-condensation roofing sheets: FAQs

Is anti-condensation the same as insulation?

No. It controls drips but does not significantly reduce heat loss. For heated buildings, consider insulated panels or a full insulated roof build-up.

Does the fleece need special care when fitting?

Keep the sheets dry before fitting, store them flat and covered, and make sure end laps are sealed so the fleece is not exposed to driving rain at the eaves.

Can I add it to any sheet?

Yes. Every box profile, corrugated, tile effect and pan tile sheet can be ordered with it, in any finish. Choose "Anti-Condensation: Yes" on the product page to see the price.
